A witness testified on Thursday that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade began before she hired him in 2021 for the 2020 election interference case against former President Donald Trump.

Robin Bryant-Yeartie, who was Willis’ friend and associate in the DA’s office, made the revelation during a Georgia hearing in which Willis is accused of misconduct in her handling of the case against Trump and his co-defendant Mike Roman.

Yeartie stated that Willis was in a romantic relationship from 2019 till at least 2022. She also testified that she had to resign from the DAs office due to the threat of being fired.

Thursday’s hearing ended in the middle of a testimony by Willis in which she railed in anger. Defending her prosecution of Trump and his allies, she accused those against her of working “contrary to democracy.”

When defense attorney Ashleigh Merchant asked about her relationship with Wade, she yelled, saying, “Let’s be clear, because you’ve lie. It is a lie! It is a lie! You’ve been intrusive into people’s lives. You think I’m on trial.”

“I’m not on trial no matter how hard you try to put me on trial,” she continued in anger before Judge McAfee called for a five-minute recess so she could calm down. When the court reconvened, McAfee warned her against any more outbursts, threatening to strike her testimony if she lost her cool again.

Yeartie’s testimony could impact the high-profile case against Trump as it contradicts Willis and Wade’s claims that the personal relationship between them developed in 2022.

Earlier in the week, McAfee said that Willis and Wade could be disqualified from the case against Trump if there’s evidence of conflict.

“I think it’s clear that disqualification can occur if evidence is produced demonstrating an actual conflict or the appearance of one, and the filings submitted on this issue so far have been presented a conflict in the evidence that cannot be resolved,” he stated.

As for MSNBC legal analyst Caroline Polisi, the case is over with the bombshell revelation that she lied to the court.

“Don’t let the legalese fool you. This is epic. This is monumental. If things are going in the direction we think, Fani Willis lied to the court, it’s game over for her. She will be disqualified. If they had a relationship prior to when they represented truth to the court, it’s a huge deal. I can’t overstate,” she said on Thursday.
