Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton found herself in a simmering pot of backlash after she tried to push “She was Right” merchandise after former President Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in his Manhattan criminal trial.

In a post on Instagram on Thursday, not long after the jury returned the guilty verdict for Trump, Clinton posted a coffee mug branded with the words, “Turns out she was right about everything.”

As caption, Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 election, wrote, “We recently had some new merch made based on a phrase I hear a lot. The design happened to be finalized today. With your purchase, you’ll support Onward Together groups defending democracy … and get a pretty great mug to sip tea from. Link to purchase in my profile.”

While some of her followers went with it, Clinton’s post sparked criticism from some, with someone saying that the former Democratic presidential nominee should be incarcerated.

“You should be in jail,” she wrote.

“Turns out we were wrong about everything we believed you stood for. Warmonger. Genocidist! If I donated a penny, I would be owed change,” another Instagram user wrote.

Someone else brought in Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, commenting, “Why didn’t you warn you husband Bubba Clinton about spending time with Jeffrey Epstein, if you were right about everything?”

A fourth person wrote, “Except Libya,” in reference to Clinton’s disastrous foreign policy decision in Libya while she served as the Secretary of State in the Obama administration. The policy had led to the terrorist attacks in Benghazi in 2012, in which U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and four other people were killed.

Clinton’s attempt to push the merch mocking Trump’s fate was brought on X, with a user noting, Hillary Clinton, the loser of the 2016 election, began selling mugs with the inscription ‘Turns out she was right’ after Trump’s verdict.”

“Hillary is a uniquely smug woman. Imagine having done as much horrible stuff as she has and selling merch of yourself with middle school tier graphic designs claiming you were right about EVERYTHING,” another X user tweeted.

Clinton’s subtle dig at Trump’s conviction did not end there, as she made another veiled reference to the verdict during the 23rd annual Global Leadership Awards on Thursday.

Addressing the audience, Clinton asked, “Anything going on today?”

The crowd laughed and cheered, after which Clinton added, “Well, I have to tell you, there’s nowhere I’d rather be than right here.”
