Former President Donald Trump has scored another endorsement in Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY). Speaking to Fox News Digital on Monday, he touted Trump as the solution to the illegal immigrant crisis the U.S. grapples with as well as inflation and weak foreign policy under President Joe Biden.

“I can not sit idly by while Joe Biden and his disastrous policies continue to erode what makes America the greatest country in the world. Since Biden took office, we have seen record-high illegal immigration at the Southern Border, 40-year high inflation, and threateningly weak foreign policy that has invited aggression from our adversaries,” Barr said.

According to Barr, Trump is “the only candidate who can defeat Joe Biden and reinstate an America First agenda” as Democrats and the mainstream media pull different tricks to ensure he remains president.

Going back in time, Barr recounted how Americans had it better with Trump as president. According to him, people “paid less at the pump and the grocery store” and the income of families “rose, and their small businesses flourished.”

“They were a direct product of Trump’s low-tax, pro-economic growth policies,” he stated, pointing out how Biden’s policies have “resulted in the opposite” of economic growth.

Barr called on the people of Kentucky and Americans in general to support Trump whom he says understands the importance of strong leadership.

In his words, “As Kentuckians and Americans, we must rally behind a leader who understands the importance of strong leadership, both at home and abroad. That is why, to protect our country and ensure prosperity, I am endorsing Donald J. Trump for President of the United States.”

Barr’s endorsement adds to Trump’s numerous endorsements from Congress as he continues to dominate the 2024 Republican primary field which also includes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, businessman-turned-politician Vivek Ramaswamy and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

The GOP front runner also poses a strong challenge to Biden’s reelection efforts. A newly released poll from Fox News showed Trump holding a four-point lead over the incumbent president in a head-to-head match-up if the election were held today.

The margin is wider in Kentucky as polls held in May, August and October show him beating Biden by over 20 points in head-to-head matchups.
