Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took some heat over her grilling of Hunter Biden’s ex-associate Tony Bobulinksi during his testimony at the impeachment hearing on President Joe Biden on Wednesday.

While trying to clarify “exactly” what crimes President Joe Biden committed, Ocasio-Cortez asked, “Is it your testimony today that you personally witnessed President Joe Biden commit a crime?”

But before Bobulinski could answer the question, Ocasio-Cortez cut him off, repeating the same question she asked him.

In response, Bobulinski asked, “How much time do I have to go through it?”

He then went on to list a number of crimes the president committed, including a RICO violation and the financial corruption he partook in while being a part of his son Hunter’s business dealings.

“What is the crime, sir, specifically?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.

“You asked me to answer the question. I answered the question. RICO, you’re obviously not familiar with. Corruption statutes. FARA,” Bobulinski responded, referencing the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

“Excuse me, sir. Excuse me, sir. RICO is not a crime. It is a category. What is the crime?” the lawmaker pressed further.

“It’s a category of crimes that you are then charged under,” Bobulinski began to respond before Ocasio-Cortez began to speak over him.

Bobulinski shot back, saying, “It’s funny, in this committee room — everyone’s not here — there are over 18 lawyers that went to law school. I’ll leave it up to you guys to define the statute.”

However, Ocasio-Cortez spoke over him again, saying, “I reclaim my time!”

The Democrat then scolded Republicans over their investigation on Biden, claiming that they have spent 15 months “lost in the desert” without any proof that the president is guilty of “a high crime or misdemeanor.”

That section of Wednesday’s hearing received a lot of attention on social media, with many Republican criticizing her for her argument that RICO, which refers to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, is not a crime.

Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) weighed in on X, saying, “AOC broken in Hunter Biden hearing. So broken in fact, she claims RICO isn’t a crime. Well… empty the jails! Oh and for the record, all the defendants in the Georgia case brought by Fani Willis falls under RICO. Ooops.”

The Republican-led House Oversight Committee also tweeted, “Rep. AOC asks Tony Bobulinski to list the crimes he witnessed Joe Biden commit. Tony Bobulinski lists the crimes: corruption statutes, RICO, conspiracy, FARA. AOC then says RICO is not a crime. (HINT: RICO is a federal law codified at 18 U.S.C. §§ 1961-68).”

“And, of course… AOC’s favorite network has her back after she completely and totally embarrassed herself by arguing that RICO is not a crime,” Fox News contributor Joe Concha tweeted.
