Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was outside a movie theater in Brooklyn on Monday when a group of pro-Palestinian protesters accosted her and asked her to denounce Israel’s counterattack operation in Gaza as “genocide.” But she was not having the demand and fired back repeatedly at the accosters.

As seen in a video on Fox News, the congresswoman was approached while she was with her fiance by the protesters who had their phones in hand and were making recordings.

“You refuse to call it a genocide,” one protester said.

Ocasio-Cortez fired back at that protester, saying, “I need you to understand that this is not okay.”

The protester was not giving up, as he responded further, “It’s not okay that there’s a genocide happening and you’re not actively against it.”

Ocasio-Cortez appeared to have lost it at this point, screaming, “You’re lying!”

The protesters can be seen following her down the escalator and bashing her for refusing to call Israel’s operation in Gaza a “genocide.”

Another protester could be heard berating her using the report of casualties in Gaza from the Hamas-run Health Ministry.

“You’ve been in several interviews. It’s insane. You haven’t been calling it a genocide. Don;t tell me I’m lying…Just say it. Over 30,000 people are dead AOC, you can’t just say it for once? Just say the word, that’s it. That’s all we want you to say,” she said.

As the protesters continued to chase the lawmaker and her fiance, Riley Roberts, down the sidewalk, Roberts, at some point, asked them to “stop.”

Then a protester asked if Ocasio-Cortez was concerned that whatever comments she made would “go viral.”

In response, she said that if she made a comment, they would edit and cut off the video to take her comments “completely out of context.”

“I already said that it was. And y’all are just gonna pretend that it wasn’t. Over and over again. It’s f—ed up man. And you’re not helping these people. You’re not helping them. You’re not helping them,” she said, visibly angry.

While she has not outrightly accused Israel of “genocide,” Ocasio-Cortez has expressed multiple condemnations of the nation’s retaliatory attacks on Hamas-controlled Gaza after the terrorist organization carried out an unprecedented operation in israel on Oct. , killing about 1,200 civilians and taking about 250 hostage. Weeks after Israel launched its operation in Gaza, she accused Israel of committing a ‘war crime” and an “indiscriminate bombing campaign” against Gaza.
