Former President Donald Trump took a swipe at a former member of his administration who endorsed him for president earlier this month. In a Truth Social post that appeared to be a combination of appreciation and mockery, Trump addressed former Attorney General William Barr’s endorsement of his campaign which contained a slight jab.

“Wow! Former A.G. Bill Barr, who let a lot of great people down by not investigating Voter Fraud in our Country, has just Endorsed me for President despite the fact that I called him ‘Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy,’” he wrote.

“Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word ‘Lethargic’ from my statement. Thank you Bill. MAGA2024!” he added.

Barr has been a vocal critic of Trump’s conduct during his time in office and after leaving. However, he suggested last week that he would vote for the former president when he told Fox News that he would vote for the “Republican ticket” in the general election. Trump is the presumptive presidential nominee for the party.

Barr, however, did not hide that he felt Trump is not the ideal choice for Americans, as he said, “I’ve said all along, given two bad choices, I think it’s my duty to pick the person I think would do the least harm to the country. And in my mind, that’s — I will vote the Republican ticket.”

“Trump may be playing Russian roulette, but a continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide in my opinion,” he added.

Trump has blasted Barr, who served as attorney general for the last two years of Trump’s administration, in the past as a “coward,” who is “gutless,” and “sloppy” after the former attorney general has expressed criticism of his former boss.

Barr had not only disputed Trump’s claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election but has also spoken against the former president amid his criminal charges, saying that he committed a “grave wrongdoing” in his Jan. 6 case.

He has also compared Trump to a “defiant 9-year-old kid” when shooting down his defenses for his classified documents case as “absurd.”

However, during the interview in which he said he’d vote Trump earlier this month, Barr slammed Trump’s hush money trial in Manhattan, calling it “obviously political” and an “abomination.”

“This case is an abomination. It’s obviously political. Seven years after he pays hush money to try to come up with this case. It’s also, as you say, it’s not only far-fetched… they’re trying to predicate it on a federal crime which wasn’t prosecuted,” he said.
