Former President Donald Trump delighted supporters at a Las Vegas rally Saturday evening, delivering a mix of humor and policy promises while taking aim at the Biden administration’s perceived shortcomings.

Trump began by highlighting his administration’s swift actions, noting how he’s been working at “historic speed” to address what he views as Biden-era policy failures since returning to office Monday.

The 78-year-old commanded the stage at Circa Resort & Casino with his characteristic showmanship, weaving between policy discussions and entertaining anecdotes that kept the crowd engaged throughout the evening.

Drawing laughter from attendees, Trump spoke about world leaders who oppose him, suggesting their disapproval actually validates his effectiveness. “If they liked me, then you’d have a problem,” he quipped to audience amusement.

The former president shared an account of an unnamed world leader’s frustrating attempts to contact then-President Biden. According to Trump’s telling, when the leader tried reaching Biden, they were told to expect a return call in two months. “Two months?” Trump told the crowd. “Yeah, it’s his schedule, he’s extremely busy sleeping.”

Continuing the anecdote, Trump explained that even after the promised two months passed, there was still no response. “So two months comes along and there’s no call and they say, ‘He didn’t call,'” he said, sharing in the audience’s laughter. “These stories are not very exaggerated, I’ll tell ya.”

Trump claimed that when Biden finally returned the call, it was “only a month” later, after which further communication became virtually impossible. In contrast, Trump emphasized his own accessibility, stating he would respond immediately with “let’s speak right now.”

The evening’s highlight came with Trump’s announcement regarding tipped workers: “No tax on tips!”

He elaborated on this policy promise, stating, “If you’re a restaurant worker, a server, a valet, a bellhop or one of my caddies…I go through caddies like candy. If I play badly, I blame my caddies…Or any other worker who relies on tips for income, your tips will be 100 percent yours.”

This proposal wasn’t new, as Trump had previously announced similar plans during a Las Vegas campaign rally in June, and reiterated the policy during a Michigan roundtable event that same month.
