The announcement that Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly decided on Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz as her running mate was described Tuesday by Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro as a “massive gift to the Republicans” and an act of “political malpractice.”
CNN and the Associated Press reported Tuesday morning that Harris chose Walz, with an official announcement planned later in a Philadelphia rally on Wednesday.
Shapiro praised Harris’ decision, calling Walz “a radical Leftist” who has “a long history of insane statements.”
“Picking Walz is a massive gift to the Republicans. He’s a radical Leftist from a non-swing state with a long history of insane statements, who presided over the burning down of his state in 2020. Kamala picked him because he’s not a Jew, and she’s Too Online™,” Shapiro wrote on X.
Shapiro later further wrote in a subsequent post.
“As someone who wants Kamala to lose, picking Walz is wonderful! It’s political malpractice! Why?
- Not from a swing state.
- Radical, underscoring her radicalism.
- She rejected (((Shapiro))) to please the pro-Hamas caucus.
She’s not competent. And this pick shows it.”
Walz even emerged as a better VP pick than Pennsylvania governor among other VP contenders including Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, per news sources.
Walz, 60, has trended further Left in his first term as Minnesota governor – signing a transgender services on kids bill into law over parental objection; tightening state gun laws and declaring abortion to be a “fundamental right.” He also helped oversee the response to violent riots that broke out in Minneapolis last summer after George Floyd’s death – leaving hundreds of businesses with over $500 million worth of property damage.
“[Harris] is full-scale radical. Remember, Tim Walz is Bernie Sanders from Minnesota,” Shapiro said on his show, which aired live following reports of Harris’ VP pick. “He is a radical leftist. It’s so mind-bogglingly stupid, and that’s why I’m so excited about it.”
