Intelligence reports from Israel have revealed Hamas terrorists’ sinister intentions behind their Oct. 7 attack on Israel. It appears that their goal was not merely a display of aggression but rather a calculated move aimed at inciting a significant military response from Israel.

According to multiple intelligence officials, including those from Western and Middle Eastern countries, Hamas meticulously planned their attack to maximize civilian casualties. Their objective was to provoke Israel into a widespread military conflict, with hopes of dragging the entire region into a war against the Israeli state.

The aftermath of the attack has exposed chilling details of Hamas’ strategy. The terrorists were equipped with ample supplies of food, ammunition, and gear, indicating their intention to engage in prolonged hostilities. They even carried explicit instructions to advance deeper into Israeli territory.

With an order to kill as many civilians as possible, Hamas seemed determined to unleash terror in the most horrifying ways imaginable, with the sinister expectation that their actions would trigger a forceful response from Israel. According to a senior Israeli official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, Hamas had formulated a second phase, which included targeting major Israeli cities and military bases.

The terrorist group’s ultimate goal was to disrupt efforts aimed at securing peace deals between Israel and Arab nations, further complicating an already delicate relationship.

It is worth noting that Hamas leaders have openly declared their readiness to sacrifice Palestinian civilians to further their cause against Israel. Ghazi Hamad, a senior Hamas official, stated, “We are called a nation of martyrs, and we are proud to sacrifice martyrs.”

In preparation for their attack, Hamas reportedly gathered intelligence through various sources, including drones, real estate websites, social media posts and conversations with Gazans working in Israel.

In addition to professional-grade operational security measures to keep their plans concealed from outsiders, Hamas leaders conveyed false signals to the Israeli government for nearly two years, suggesting a lack of interest in military escalation. These signals included refraining from aligning with other Islamic terror groups conducting attacks against Israel, showing a willingness to improve economic conditions in Gaza, and even sharing intelligence about other terror groups within Gaza with Israeli authorities.

Additionally, the terrorist group employed low-tech methods to evade Israel’s highly regarded intelligence agencies.
