In an unexpected turn of events, Rep. Summer Lee (D-PN), a member of the far-left “Squad,” made a surprising declaration during a recent press conference. While calling for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Lee stated, “all lives do matter.”

Lee’s statement expressed her hope that this crisis would lead to a resounding acknowledgement that every life is precious, echoing the sentiment that was emphasized during other challenging times.

“I hope and pray that when we exit this crisis, we will be able to say resoundingly, yes, we did enough because we spoke through the noise, and we stood firmly in our belief that all lives do matter — as they said when it was our turn — and that each and every one of them is precious,” she wrote.

“I thank the leaders of this legislation, of this resolution, I thank the leaders who have stood with us, who continue to stand, who continue to come, and that your work will not be in vain and that we call for a ceasefire now,” she added, emphasizing the importance of unity in addressing the conflict.

While her remarks garnered smiles and nods of approval from her fellow “Squad” members, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), the declaration of “all lives matter” screams hypocrisy as it contrasts with the stance of many top Democrat figures in the Black Lives Matter movement who have criticized the use of the phrase “all lives matter” as the trivializing of racial oppression.

The contradiction comes as “Squad” members have consistently opposed the Biden administration’s stance on Israel, with some going to great lengths to express their views. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) even repeated a Hamas talking point, suggesting that Israel was responsible for a devastating explosion at a Gaza hospital that claimed over 100 lives. Ilhan Omar also initially made a similar accusation but later backtracked on her statement after U.S. and Israeli intelligence findings refuted the claim.

Following these posts by Omar and Tlaib, former Assemblyman Dov Hikind (R-NY) and former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman have called on House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to initiate an ethics inquiry into the actions of both representatives.

In a joint statement on the matter, Hikind and Friedman wrote, “Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and any other member of Congress who promoted this nasty blood libel crossed all lines and exposed their truest intention, which is not support for Palestinians but to harm and enfeeble Israel.”
