On Monday, billionaire Elon Musk explained to former President Donald Trump that he is a political “moderate” and not the “far-right” figure portrayed by the mainstream press.
Musk then went on to urge fellow moderates to back Trump in the 2024 cycle, as they pointed out that this was a critical election for our country.
He called the 2024 election a “crux,” saying of Trump losing: “I’ve not been very political before. [The media] try to paint me as a far-right guy, which is absurd because I like to make electric vehicles. I supported Obama — I stood in line for six hours to shake Obama’s hand [and] historically I was a moderate Democrat.”
“But now I feel like we’re at a critical juncture for the country,” the entrepreneur continued. “This is to people out there who are in the moderate camp, [I] say, I think you should support Donald Trump for president.”
“I actually think it’s a very important juncture in the road, we’re in deep trouble if it goes the other way,” Musk added.
To which Trump replied with his gratitude for Musk’s support, “I’ve always thought of you as somewhat Left — it’s even more of an honor to have your endorsement.”
During the over two-hour long social media platform chat between Musk and Trump, topics such free speech, immigration reform, government waste, and the assassination attempt were discussed.
Just a few hours before the interview took place, The European Commission published an open letter to Musk in which they essentially commanded him to censor certain derivative links or face potential consequences.
X in turn replied to Musk with a meme, demanding no compliance. In a later tweet, X said the commission had in December last year offered him “an illegal secret deal” to censor speech on their platform and save them fines that mainly applied from January 1st this year.
