A Utah couple was driving to Arizona a few days before Christmas Day when their vehicle hit a commercial truck tractor. The tragic incident happened on Dec. 20 in Wickenburg, Arizona.

The woman, Chloe Scott, a skincare mogul, died on the scene of the accident while Parker Stott was transported to a hospital in a critical condition. Per The Daily Wire, he had suffered severe burns and injuries and had broken nearly every other bone in his body. While his right leg was amputated within the days he fought the injuries he sustained, he did not survive the crash either as he died days later, with his family announcing his death on Dec. 24.

The couple was reportedly passing vehicles in a legal passing zone while driving in a white Toyota Tundra pickup truck. According to a spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Raul Garcia, their vehicle, at some point, “failed to complete the pass and collided head-on with a white Volvo commercial truck tractor pulling a trailer loaded with home goods.”

The driver of the commercial truck survived the crash but was taken to the hospital for checkup anyway.

The couple’s two dogs were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. But they reportedly survived with minor injuries.

According to the family, who had initially set up a GoFundMe account to help with Parker’s medical bills, the Stotts had been traveling to Arizona to tell their family members they were expecting a baby. Chloe had been about 10 weeks pregnant, their business manager and friend, Scout Whiteley, revealed.

“They had just found out they were pregnant with a baby and were so excited to be parents and share the news with their loved ones over Christmas. At 8:30pm Wednesday evening they were involved in a tragic car accident that took the life of Chloe and their precious baby boy,” the family wrote on the fundraiser.
