Blood could be seen on the side of Donald Trump’s face after he said shots were fired at him today during a political rally in Pennsylvania.

Gunshots rang out as Trump was ushered up, gripping around his ear before dropping to floor level and swamped by Secret Service agents in an instant.

Once he was on his feet, Trump made a fist and told the fans to ‘fight’ as Secret Service agents evacuated him from the stage.

The next message was posted by Trump in a statement confirming he had been shot and issued about two hours after the attack.

“I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania,” Trump said in a statement posted to social media. “Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country.”

“Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead,” he continued. “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

The Trump campaign said in a statement: “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act.”

“He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility,” the statement continued. “More details will follow.”

Case in point, the reaction on social media from all corners including Democrats was immediate and nearly unanimous support for Trump.
