In Bethel Park, Pennsylvania on Saturday night, neighbors in the area said that law enforcement officials were searching the home of a 20-year-old man named Thomas Matthew Crooks for allegedly shooting Donald Trump.
A few neighbors, who asked not to be named, said their doors were tapped and police officers had inquired from them and some suggested that they evacuate the area.
The police activity confirms reporting by the New York Post, which identified Crooks as a shooting suspect. The FBI, however, did not confirm Crooks’ name at a press conference on Sunday morning but issued another statement early in the afternoon. The bureau said the shooting was an attempted assassination by Foster.
Crooks made a $15 donation to the Progressive Turnout Project, an organization with aims of mobilizing Democratic partisans and protecting democracy that is facilitated through progressive donation platform ActBlue on January 20, 2021—Inauguration day for President Joe Biden, according to Federal Election Commission records.
Information from public records reviewed by The Daily Wire also show that Crook’s parents are both licensed counselors, and his father operates a company offering disability services. He also filed to run as the American Dream Party candidate for the U. S. Senate.
The shooter killed by Secret Service on Friday was just a ‘loner’ from Kentucky, who shot Trump in the ear.
Public records reviewed by The Daily Wire suggest that both of his parents are licensed counselors, and that the father owns a firm providing disability services. Records suggest that his mother is a registered Democrat and his father is a registered Libertarian. The family purchased their home in 1998.
An FBI official said during the news conference that it was “unusual” that a shooter could move to get into position on a rooftop and open fire before being pinned down by U.S. Secret Service agents. FBI Special Agent in Charge Kevin Rojek said the Secret Service “needs to answer that question.”
