President Donald Trump’s IRS is close to finalizing a groundbreaking agreement with ICE that will enhance the agency’s ability to locate and detain illegal aliens who have received deportation orders.

According to anonymous sources who spoke with Politico, the collaboration will give ICE agents access to IRS databases, enabling them to verify the identities and locations of individuals slated for deportation by federal immigration judges.

While critics oppose the measure, Politico acknowledges that this partnership could lead to a temporary surge in arrests and workplace investigations, specifically targeting illegal aliens whom federal judges have determined have no legal right to remain in the country.

“An ICE official, granted anonymity to discuss the policy planning, said the data would likely improve efficiency by helping ICE confirm addresses, streamlining time-consuming work that agents often have to do manually,” Politico reported.

The process will involve DHS Secretary Kristi Noem or ICE Director Todd Lyons submitting information requests to the IRS regarding individuals with deportation orders, after which the IRS will be authorized to share relevant data.

Border czar Tom Homan emphasized the initiative’s importance in safeguarding Americans’ Social Security benefits, noting that countless citizens have had their Social Security Numbers misappropriated by illegal aliens seeking employment fraudulently.

“Illegal aliens many times use Social Security numbers of U.S. citizens, and it causes a lot of problems — not just identity theft … we’re going to look out for the American people. We’re going to protect Social Security,” Homan said last week.

Elon Musk, White House adviser and DOGE chief, revealed that his newly established agency discovered 2.1 million illegal aliens had obtained Social Security Numbers in 2024.

Research conducted by the Immigration Reform Law Institute uncovered approximately 39 million instances between 2012 and 2016 where illegal aliens allegedly stole Americans’ identities and Social Security numbers.
