Morgan Wallen has accepted a plea deal following his April chair-throwing incident, receiving a sentence that includes probation and brief incarceration at a DUI education facility.

The country music star’s original felony charges were reduced to misdemeanor reckless endangerment, resulting in two years of probation – one year for each count. His sentence also includes a week-long stay at a DUI education center.

Under judicial diversion terms, Wallen’s conditional plea could lead to dismissed charges if he adheres to the agreement’s conditions. The charges initially carried potential penalties of up to one year in jail and $2,500 fines per count, according to the Tennessean.

“Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved,” his attorney, Worrick Robinson IV, told Page Six in a statement.

“Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.”

The incident occurred at Chief’s Bar on Broadway, where surveillance footage captured a chair being thrown from the rooftop, landing near police officers below. While the video didn’t clearly identify Wallen, witnesses reported seeing him laugh before throwing the chair.

Law enforcement subsequently detained Wallen outside the establishment, resulting in charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting a $15,250 bond.

Following the incident, Wallen addressed his actions on social media platform X, stating, “I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”

He followed up by expressing his “utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe.”
