B-Girl Raygun is going back to work after a whirlwind few months that included a viral show at the Paris Olympics and tour across Europe with celebrity enablers in tow. Raygun will return to her position as a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Media, Communications & Creative Arts at Macquarie University.
That said, she would be remiss to think her number 1 status has been without controversy. Worldwide attention was given to her after being highly criticized for her less than lackluster performance.
Raygun, who arrived in Sydney just last week alongside husband Samuel Free, told the Project she wants to take some time out of competitive breaking.
“Not really wanting to be in the spotlight, breaking, competing,” she said.
“It’s been nice. It’s been a bit of a process to try and start dancing again. Like, that’s actually been tough. You know, it was my medicine, and then it turned into my source of stress.
“So, I’m really happy that it gets to go back to being my medicine. I can kind of finally feel free again. I’m looking forward to breaking, but, no, I don’t think I’ll compete for a while.”
Raygun also recently embarked on a Virgin Voyages Celebration Voyage through the Mediterranean to Europe islands and got noticed by billionaire Sir. Richard Branson. The duchess appeared to be having a ball on the high seas, even demonstrating her legendary kangaroo dance for Branson. The billionaire Virgin founder told of his appreciation for her “creative spirit” and uniqueness.
Reality contestant Raygun is also a social media user sharing teasing snippets of her travels around Europe and snaps of partying with Boy George, dining out Sir Branson-style and rubbing shoulders topside with Sonia Kruger.
Having returned from her European holiday, the academic side of Raygun is now moving to one side whilst she gets back into “the swing of teaching rather than performance” and strikes up that balance between dance and a formal education.
