Simone Biles recently slammed critics for their comments on her husband’s Instagram post.
The Chicago Bears safety, Jonathan Owens, posted a photo of himself wearing his wife’s medal around his neck, together with Biles, with the caption “Witnessing history every time you step on the mat. Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!! Just wow!!!! 8 of them!!!!! So thankful I was there to see it.”
People quickly took to the comment section to criticize.
“WHY do u have the medal on there is NO REASON,” one Instagram user commented.
“why he holding it like he won it,” another commenter wrote.
“That’s Simone’s gold medal you’re holding, not yours my guy,” someone else wrote.
Not long after, even TikToker Kiera Breaugh got into the conversation with a viral post that urged Owens to “take her medal off. ”
Biles herself saw the response and stood up for her husband.

“Crazy thing is, I put my medal on every single one of my family members and took pictures. So don’t ever make assumptions. Like y’all are so f–ing miserable. Leave us alone.”
The TikToker later admitted that the criticism may have been taken too far.
She answered with a second message: “I’m honored to be told to f–k off by such a talented woman,” she said in a second video. “I can’t be mad if she told him to [put the medal on] … maybe he is really taking notes.”
The 27-year-old gymnastics star had already marked her total all-around victory on Thursday by wearing a “GOAT” medallion round her neck, in recognition of being termed the greatest gymnast ever.
