David Friedman, the former U.S. Ambassador to Israel and a close ally of former President Donald Trump, issued a stern warning to American Jews about the misleading rhetoric used by Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris during her speech at the Democratic National Convention.

Friedman, who served in the Trump administration, said that the last administration moved its embassy to Jerusalem and orchestrated the historic Abraham Accords. Now, he urged Jews to read through Harris’ words and see the dangers they hold against the Jewish State.

Harris opened her speech with very pointed statements in support of Israel. “Let me be clear. I will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself, and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself, because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that a terrorist organization called Hamas caused on Oct. 7, including unspeakable sexual violence and the massacre of young people at a music festival,” she declared.

Turning next to the Palestinian condition, Harris termed conditions in Gaza “devastating,” and she expressed her condolences for the loss of innocent lives on both sides over the past 10 months. According to her, the Biden administration was trying to find a solution that would ensure Israel’s security but end the suffering of the Palestinians and their denial of self-determination.

In her words, “President Biden and I are working to end this war, such that Israel is secure, the hostages are released, the suffering in Gaza ends and the Palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, security, freedom and self-determination.”

“And know this: I will never hesitate to take whatever action is necessary to defend our forces and our interests against Iran and Iran-backed terrorists,” she added.

Friedman, however, sliced up Harris’ statements in an X post, revealing what he sees as the true intentions behind her words. Per Friedman, Harris promising to have Israel’s back in defending itself only means America will be laying down the stipulations for that defense and strong-arming Israel into compliance.

He further warned that her mention of the Oct. 7 attack is a veiled message that the U.S. is going to bully Israel into dangerous concessions to the Palestinians in some misguided attempt to lessen violence.

Friedman didn’t stop there. He pointed out Harris’s hollow pledge to prevent Iran from going nuclear, saying that her actual plan is to appease the mullahs and not to bring serious consequences upon them. He targeted, at the same time, her declaration of the so-called right of the Palestinians to self-determination, which he took to mean the expulsion of Jews from their biblical homeland in Judea and Samaria to make way for a Palestinian state that would pose a direct threat to the existence of Israel.

In a scathing conclusion, Friedman reminded his audience of the disastrous policies of the current administration under Harris’ leadership. He noted that they had failed to enforce the sanctions on Iran, thereby allowing this regime to put together in excess of $200 billion in GDP, which it would then turn around and use to fund terrorism.

He lambasted the restoration of funding to UNRWA, tied to financing Hamas, and the denial of essential weapons to Israel in its fight against the terror group. He further damned the senseless suggestion of a Palestinian state as the answer to the massacre of October 7.

Friedman’s message to American Jews was quite clear: don’t fall for “ the bagels and lox narratives that the Democrats have used repeatedly to defraud Jews into voting for them.”
