Addressing Biden’s previous statements about not pardoning his son, Penn offered his perspective, saying, “I do not believe that Joe Biden, had he won the presidency, would have pardoned his son. I don’t think it was a lie; I think it was a change of mind and circumstance.”
The actor, who maintains a close friendship with Hunter Biden and displays his artwork in his home, dismissed the previously filed felony charges as baseless attacks. Penn praised Hunter as “one of the finest people I know.”
Elaborating on his admiration for Hunter, Penn commented, “This is a guy who has taken on the most severe addiction, and has so much to offer people who are suffering or families who are suffering through that. And I just I’m glad that the possibility is there now that he’ll have the time and space to be able to offer that support to people, which I know is what he wants to do.”
Penn also highlighted Hunter’s artistic talents, adding, “We would be proud to have him. He’s also a fantastic painter.”

The actor’s criticism extended to the upcoming Trump administration, which he characterized as “a dangerous clown show.” However, this assessment appears to contrast with electoral results, as Trump secured a decisive victory in the 2024 election, winning both the Electoral College and popular vote, along with every swing state.
The election results also demonstrated broader Republican success, with the party gaining control of both congressional chambers, signaling strong public support for their platform.
